3/21/2022 Unexpected Blossoms#SpringFlingKidlit Winter’s first frost covered the ground when Dahlia found a bud on the tip of a very thin, very floppy stalk.
Without her help, it would not bloom into a beautiful flower in the Spring. She wrapped her fluffy tail around the bud to keep it safe from the cold. She practiced her handstands in front of it to protect it from the wind. She dug her den beneath it to watch for hungry insects. But the bud turned deeper brown. Dahlia feared she hadn’t done enough to help it bloom. Not sure what else to do, she worried. But worrying made her very tired, more than doing handstands, and she fell asleep beneath the falling stalk. While she rested the forest thawed. Buds expanded and blossomed. Dahlia woke to find Spring’s first bouquet of wildflowers covering the ground in purples, pinks and blues. More blossoms than she had imagined. 3/21/2022 On the First Warm Day3/4/2022 Puppy's New Toy#50PreciousWords
